Lena leads a series of initiatives as co-founder of the non-profit, Kinship Family Initiative. Driven by her personal experience with generations of kinship care in her own family, Lena is dedicated to ensuring children in kinship or foster care feels loved and cherished. Her initiatives reflect this deep commitment:

Arting4You: We collect art supplies and donate them to children in kinship and foster care. Art is an amazing way for children to express themselves during happy and difficult times. 

Embrace Their Roots: To bridge the gap between African American hair products and African American children in foster care and experiencing homelessness by raising awareness, educating caregivers and service providers, and providing resources for proper hair care.

Pages and Pals: An engaging program that pairs reading with companionship, encouraging literacy and providing emotional support to children in care.

Positivity Pouches: Positivity Pouches spread joy and positivity among children. Curated with inspiring tools, they foster self-expression and promote self-love and confidence.
